i have a garden growing in my heart.

i didn’t put it there.

i didn’t plant it.

i didn’t tend it.

i didn’t shower it with afternoon rain

but the fact remains that

i have a garden growing in my heart

ind it is overflowing with praise.

i didn’t plant it, but I know who did

and He’s great at what He does

the things He makes are magnificent

the worlds He creates are works of art

he plants wonders and wonderful things

like this garden he put in my heart

it grows the more i look at him

it blooms when He breathes

it escapes through my lungs when i sing

and the more i gaze at my creator, the more it thrives

because this garden he put in my heart

is alive

out of my soul comes a sound of praise,

and that praise is a weapon against the darkness.

it is a banner of victory.

it is a lighthouse shining from the shore

to lead wanderers home

let them look and see what my God has done

let them know that I have been remade by the King of Kings

let them follow my gaze,

because my eyes are on Jesus, and i will not look away–

i have God almighty, the creator of the Universe, in view.

he has invited me into the throne room of the king of the world.

i have seen the goodness of God in the land of the living

so i will spread his name upon the earth

i have fixed my gaze on his throne

and every breath i take will feed

the garden of worship in my soul

and i am not alone

++++

we are a generation gazing at our maker,

fixed on His majesty,

flooding our streets with his name,

and the more we look at our Lord

the more we can’t help but to praise.

they will know us by our thunderous sound

and they’ll find beauty blooming in our wake

they’ll know our God’s a marvel-maker

by the worship we create

and they’ll see us coming from miles away

praising with our hands and our minds

and our feet and our lives

we’ll shine hope into the dark

because we’re children of the light

we will make our maker famous

we will carry his name on our lips

and we will overflow with worship of the One who deserves it

He formed us

and loved us

and stitched us together like works of art

so what can we do but overflow

from this garden of worship He put in our hearts
