  • the nightingales’ operation was not successful, so they’re back at camp licking their wounds. regrouping. catching their breath.

  • during the campaign, some of those in the city saw them. followed them back. joined their ranks. this gives the nightingales the chance to welcome new people into their number.

  • this track is the ethos of the EP. the nightingales are not real, and their adversary is not real, but what the nightingales stand for—and what their adversary stands for—is.

okay i know what i’m doing with the verses. yesterday i reached out and gathered a few stories like what i’m looking for, but i wanna use the verses as an opportunity to tell real life stories, not just the story of this album. like yes, this is fiction, but it’s rooted in very real stuff. everybody wants to belong.

definitely don’t hate how it turned out. not bad for a couple days of concerted effort.

i really have to reconsider filming all of it. i spend too much time. just too much time. not to mention the time EDITING it, and then i don’t even like the product haha. ugh. backed myself into this corner i think.

finished tracking most of the guitars and stuff, i just kind of have no idea what i’m doing with the vocal.

okay the first pass of the vocal is done and is not THAT bad but it’s gonna need some work probably. still no idea what to do about the “verses”???

ended up re-tracking the vocals and i feel better about them.
still no idea what i’m doing about the verses.

wrote a song i think is gonna be called “emberlight” just because i like one of the lines in the little refrain.
